How great would it be for you to be able to help yourself, your family and friends to feel better by applying reflexology to their feet, or their hands or their ears?

Whether they are feeling fatigued, or anxious, or dealing with the demands of their pregnancy, or, just feeling under the weather – even if they are suffering pain or a sickness, research has shown reflexology to be beneficial in a wide range of circumstances for a wide range of people.

So much so, that for anyone receiving medical care, it is recommended that they check with their health care provider to make sure that the reflexology will not interfere with their treatment – and, to give the health care provider a heads up on the fact that their patient is receiving reflexology.

A person does not need to have health challenges to benefit from reflexology. It can be a simple pleasurable source of preventative health care – assisting relief of stress and supporting detoxification.

It is also a wonderful way to connect with people with whom you would like to have a healthy personal connection.

Even teenagers – who can be very distant as they meet the challenges of establishing their own unique being in the world – will find it hard to refuse a foot massage – during which they may even relax a bit and share what is happening in their life!

Yes, there are a myriad of ways that reflexology can be of benefit – it is a real gift to be able to offer it to those that you care for. Interestingly, those who are most skeptical often become the most ardent fans after experiencing it.

If you have not experienced it yourself, you might want to try it before committing to learn how to do it. Treat yourself; I am sure that you deserve it.

Then you can make a more informed decision as to whether you would like to have all the benefits of reflexology at your fingertips.

Yes, at the Pacific Institute of Reflexology training courses are just one weekend of instruction and the promise of the course is that if you complete the practicum and home study – on your own time, with family & friends – you will be able to practice reflexology competently and will receive a certificate.

You have a choice – there are courses for working on the feet (most popular) as well as courses for working on the hands or the ears.

The Pacific Institue of Reflexology can make that promise because they started offering training courses in 1978 and have continually refined and upgraded them, so they are now confident in the results that their students get.

If you wanted to move on to practicing professionally your basic training would be sufficient and with completion of one more course that prepares you to function as a professional, you would be qualified to be recognised by one of the professional associations.

Of course, you are free to choose how far you want to go, and from my point of view, enjoying providing reflexology for family members and friends can be the most rewarding way to practice reflexology. It is really up to you.
