Ayurvedic health treatments are based on a 5,000 year-old system of natural healing originating in India.
It is the most oldest and scared healing science. The word Ayurveda translates to lifespan built on knowledge and that is exactly what it is, knowledge acquired by the ancient people that is very effective in the treatment of various diseases till date.
In current times, more and more people are turning to Ayurvedic medicines for a safer and healthier solution to health problems. There are various reasons why Ayurveda health treatments are a better option over allopathic medicines.

Permanent Solution

Ayurvedic health treatments provide a permanent solution. Unlike other medicines that do not fall in tune with the proper requirements of the body, Ayurveda addresses the requirement of individuals.
It does not merely mask the issue but goes to the root cause of the problem and works at eliminating the cause of the disease.
This is why it is a more detailed healing system as it requires the careful study of the patient, their physical and emotional characteristics and provides a holistic treatment that encompasses their physical, mental and emotional health.

Safe and Natural

It is safe and natural.  Many medicines are made up of chemical compounds that can have adverse affects over time. People start to grow dependent on these medications which can affect organs like the liver, kidney or heart.
Ayurvedic medicines are generally safe though there are sometimes side effects which can impact the digestive system.
However, Ayurvedic herbs are rarely used on their own and are part of a holistic approach to health that combines practices like aromatherapy, meditation, healthy eating, yoga and massage.
Along with specific herbs, Ayurvedic practitioners use oils and spices to treat the body and promote well-being.

Doshas

Ayurvedic medicine is based on doshas to determine treatment. There are three doshas – vata, pitta and kapha.
Vata means wind, or people who like to be going places. Pitta is fire, or people who get easily angered. Kapha is water, people who are slow moving and tend to be heavy.
Doshas can be determined with a simple test that takes in a person’s frame, skin and hair type, activity levels, sleep patterns, response to stress and more.
Most people are a combination of two doshas though some are primarily one dosha.  Once the dosha or doshas are determined, then changes can be considered to provide a more balanced lifestyle.
