How to Have Better Gut Health for Women Over 40
Women who are going through menoause often experience digestive discomfort and bloating symptoms.
This is primarily due to fluctuating and declining hormone levels, specifically estrogen and progesterone.
These fluctuating hormones affect water retention and digestion. Imbalanced estrogen leads to increased water retention while declining progesterone slows down digestion, which causes gas.
It can seem like a double whammy.
Women who have experienced PMS during their reporductive years are now feeling like they still have to deal with gut issues during peri-menopause and well into menopause.
That’s why a workshop is being held on Gut Reset for Women 40+ on Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, both in Pacific time.
This is an online workshop.so it will be available anywhere someone can get an internet connection. Because women’s health issues transcend geographical boundaries.
The changes in hormone balance in peri-menopause and menopause can affect the gut microbiome and cause increased sensitivity, leading to more frequent bloating and in many cases, weight gain.
Lower hormone levels can lead to slowed digestion, which results in increased gas and constipation.
Menopause often brings increased stress, which triggers higher cortisol levels that affect gut bacteria, making women more susceptible to Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IBS, constipations and gas.
We often hear about what to eat for gut health, but there’s also an emotional and mental layer many people miss.
Ever notice how we say, “I have a gut feeling”?
That’s not poetic fluff. Your gut and brain are in constant conversation. When one is tense, overwhelmed, or inflamed, the other feels it too.
If you’re a woman 40+, you may already sense changes. Your digestion feels “off.” Hormone shifts, stress, food choices, and busy lives all stack together. And when your gut is unsettled, it can ripple into sleep, mood, confidence, relationships, and even how you show up at work.
The Gut Health Reset Workshop will look at these changes and what women can do to for better gut health. Dietary changes, exercise, sleep habits, hydration along with herbs and supplements will be discussed to form a plan to help women moving forward.
These can all affect your hormonal patterns as well.
So you can support your metabolism without under-eating or overeating. I’m not just talking about physical support – I’m talking about emotional support and the mental/relationship support you can get from a workshop – where you have a nutrition coach that gets you because she’s been through it too.
Get the clarity you need and action steps so you can start seeing results right away.
You might have heard it before – everything starts in the gut. This becomes more important and relevant as women age.
