The Herb and Wine Fair is a unique destination event about wellness, food, herbs, wine and fun.
Wild Medicinal Plants of Vancouver Island, 11 a..m. talk will be given by Amanda Howe of Black Bear Herbs in Courtenay, B.C.
Learn how to use common wild medicinal plants growing in your garden and in the forests and fields of our beautiful Island. Amanda has been an Herbalist and teacher for over 30 years, sharing her love of the healing power of herbs.
This fun and informative talk will introduce you to the magic of the healing herbs growing wild all around you at your feet.
Navigating Essential Oils, 1 p.m. with Lee Hindrichs, aromatherapist, herbalist and retired RN
Essential Oils have made a resounding splash into mainstream alternatives in the past few years, as they are part of the solution for great health and a sustainable lifestyle.
Unfortunately there are both fabulous claims and dire warnings floating about in cyberspace. It’s time to lay down the ground work for intelligent use of essential oils for great health and the green lifestyle.
Join in this fabulous fast-paced class. We’ll cover the top ways to use essential oils for health concerns and then we’ll touch on a few ways of detoxifying your home with essential oils.
Come a few minutes early to get your handouts. These are a great resource for some DIY projects as well as references for use. Fill in the form for the door prize as well!
There will also be information on herb and wine pairing at the event, a chance to win 1 of 3 wine gift baskets, wines to sample, live music, vendors to explore and more. The raffle for the gift baskets is $5 at the event. There may be other draws as well and partial proceeds go towards Haven House. Event is free to attend.
